Tragic Loss of a Loyal Friend

This is so sad: Jesse, a 13-year-old Labrador retriever/German shepherd mix, who'd been the service dog and best friend of a Wisconsin amputee, died in the house fire from which she saved her mistress. But Jesse went back to the house to try to save one of Jamie Hanson's cats. They both died of smoke inhalation. Needless to say, Hanson is griefstricken.
