Tampa Shelter Animals Losing High-Visibility Spot

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has been showcasing adoptable cats and dog at a shopping center for several years, in addition to its shelter, which has enabled higher adoption rates. Now that arrangment is about to end. Click here to read the story from the St. Pete Times.

This is very sad indeed. But let throw this out there. Because there are so many pets -how about we start working on people retaining their animals -promoting microchipping - so we don't have any pets that have tobe adopted out

I'm a former Miami resident and current Tampa resident and the redevelopment of Hyde Park has been a point of contention recently. Not only are they closing this satellite center, but management has chosen not to renew the lease of the neighboring Sunrise Cinemas (one of the few places to see independent films in the area). However, on a brighter note, the Humane Society is offering $15 microchipping out of this location this coming Saturday from noon to 2pm!
